In a commercial collection case, our firm was recently hired to begin collecting a final business judgment in the amount of $1,039,776.50 against Detroit Phone Card, Inc. The underlying lawsuit was filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey Law Division: Morris County, New Jersey, and resulted in a final judgment (our firm was not involved in the prosecution of the underlying lawsuit in New Jersey).
The lawsuit that we filed in Texas seeks to collect the judgment under the Uniform Enforcement of Foreign Judgments Act. Our client seeks the full balance of the judgment plus interest and attorney’s fees. The lawsuit was filed in the 14th Judicial District Court in Dallas County, Texas.
